Wow, I just realized I haven't seen that illustration in game either. I wonder if it's part of one of the campaigns? I found that image online so I have no idea where it came from (I was too lazy to open up the game and create my own screenshots :)

I am still playing Heroes. I can't believe the kind of staying power it has. What a good game! And the WoG expansion is amazing. Thanks for the comment! Let me know if you ever figure out who that illustration is.

I stumbled across this blog looking for information on HOMM3 - and you're absolutely right. HOMM3 is my top favorite game of all time. I purchased the "Complete" set back in 2002 and have been playing avidly ever since [that's a very proud 9 years solid with that game]. I don't remember when I discovered WOG, but when I did - I was like, "HOLY CRAP!" That add-on completely changed the dynamic and strategy of the game. I tried Heroes 4 and 5.... they're not even worth it, in my opinion. Heroes 3 has much better game play than those two versions, even without the WOG add-on.

One question I had tho - what is that character illustrated on the left of the screen in the pic ----> "http://www.brianmcculloh.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/homm34.gif" ???

I've never seen that character in the 9 years I've been playing this game. What the heck?
