‘B’ Boastfully Backs Beloved ‘B4 Blog’ Brother Blogger Because Brand-new Blog Brings Brilliant Brainwork: ‘By the Narrow Gate’

Jonathan Wey is writing again. That’s all you need to know.
Not since Dragons Buried on High have we been privileged with such an uninhibited glimpse into such a unique mind. He is a MUCH better writer than I (I’m talking LITS here) and you can tell that he meticulously prepares each and every post. I was blown away with his From Ancient Greece to John Williams: Music Has Always Been the Same post, and I’m looking forward to his post on theTop 74 Film Scores of All Time.
His blog is entitled By the Narrow Gate and here’s some insight as to why:
Finding a title is difficult. I thought about several for a while, and finally stuck with this one. It is of course taken from the quote in the New Testament (Matthew, Chapter 7). I like to think of it as a bit of a double entendre–”Enter by the narrow gate…”; but it also conjures the image of one who is standing “by the narrow gate”, perhaps waiting to enter in. I like this image very much. For me it calls to mind our passage as human persons from this transient world into the eternal Kingdom–our goal and aim as Christians. Life is a journey into the Kingdom. As C.S. Lewis calls it, it is a journey that goes “further up and further in.”
See what I mean? He used the word ‘entendre’.
Two reasons I like this blog: 1) it starts with a ‘B’ so I was able to do that overkill ‘b’ alliteration in the title of this blog post and 2) it’s a WordPress blog. Nothing against Blogger, it’s just nice to finally see someone else out there on WordPress like me. Who wants to be able to do push-button simple-as-pie blog posts when you can waste tons of time going through all the admin panel tabs just to figure out how to change your title?
Wow, thanks Brian. Now I’m really going to have to write something worthwhile.
Get on it. I didn’t spend my time writing such an a$$-kissing post for nothing.
Wordpress ftw! I’ll add it to my google reader.
Oh, and if the blog ends up sucking, no more chocolate chip cookies for you.
How did she get those to be so soft and stay so round instead of becoming flat? Uh… I’m talking about the chocolate chip cookies.
I obviously need to add your comment RSS to my reader, because otherwise I miss out on wonderful gems such as your previous comment.
LOL I forgot about that comment. I totally wrote that first sentence with good intentions. It wasn’t till I read it back that I noticed how bad it sounded. And yes, you need to subscribe to my comments. There aren’t a whole lot, so it should be easy to keep up with them
