The Bourne Ultimatum: 1/10 Berating

The Bourne Ultimatum is the third and final installment of the trilogy about former CIA assassin Jason Bourne. I must say, I was blown away.
The Good
The cinematography, score, directing, acting, stunt effects, and plethora of settings were all superb. This movie did something that few movies are able to accomplish, especially in this day and age. Do you remember what it’s like to get chills while you’re watching a movie? I’m talking the first time you saw The Matrix, or when the armies of Gondor ride over the orc horde as the sun bursts over the horizon in LOTR: Return of the King. The Bourne Ultimatum was able to give me chills on the part where Jason Bourne is fighting another “asset” in a Moroccan apartment. There is a book involved. You will know what I’m talking about when you see it.
The Bad
There was a little bit lacking in the plot category, but so what? The plot was still ok, and all the stuff I listed above was more than enough to make up for whatever was lacking in terms of plot.

Ah, another review from the hallowed annals of the B-ratings System. I still haven’t seen the second movie, but I thought the first one was awesome. I’ll have to see Supremacy before I go to Ultimatum.
A warning: many say Supremacy is not nearly as good as Identity, including me, but others say it is better. I personally think Ultimatum sits above Supremacy and just a smidge below Identity. If Beratings existed for the premiere of Identity, it would most definitely receive a 0/10.

I thought it was pretty good as well, though toward the beginning a lot of what was happening didn’t seem to fit with Bourne’s character. It also seemed like they had to go through an awful lot of new character introduction and reintroduction (where the heck did that new head of CIA guy come from? Was that supposed to be Tomas Arana?). Despite all that, they pulled themselves up and ended up making another great action flick.

Yeah, I agree. It was phenomenal. Janna and I walked out going, “Wow, I’m glad it’s over because I need a break! Whew!” The action and excitement almost never stopped. Good stuff. Thanks for the review B-man.

Yeah dude, I like Tomas Arana as an actor way more than Scott Glenn. I guess I was referring to the last installment of the original trilogy written by Robert Ludlow, but I shouldn’t have assumed it was the last movie. This is Hollywood we’re talking about… where money rules all. What was I thinking?
Just saw Ultimatum a couple nights ago. I definitely thought it was the best of the three; better even than Identity (which is saying a lot)
