Why Twitter Is Stupid, Part II
Posted on 24. Mar, 2009 by The Gimcracker in Twitter Sucks
A lot of people like to use Twitter to “stay connected”. Here is what I think of those people.
That’s right, you are complete losers.
Let’s say you acknowledge you are a loser and you embrace it – that’s fine. My question remains. If you really want to stay connected with fake online friends, why don’t you have fun doing it? It’s called World of Warcraft. Your guild will listen to anything you want to type into guild chat. Or you can use General chat so everyone can read your pathetic ramblings. All while you’re trekking across the Grizzly Hills and leveling up your Deathknight. Doesn’t that sound like a whole lot more fun?
What about people that want to easily stay connected with only real friends? Like all the guys in lived with in college that are spread out across the country?
WOW can be fun, for sure. It can also be a timesink.
I do not retract my statement. Twitter is retarded*
*for the purposes of friendship.
I agree. The same goes for any social networking tool. Myspace, Facebook, Friendster, whatever.
I really should have proofread my first post. Need more coffee in the morning.
The video is hilarious. I just saw the text and not the video earlier in my blog reader.
I deleted my Facebook account. I’m not saying other people should, but it has been very liberating for me.
You’re becoming a slowly becoming a recluse, aren’t you? BTW – i totally agree with you. I hate twitter and have refused all requests to use it. It was quite frightening when I received a twitter request from the Diocese of the Midwest – a sign of the end times to be sure…
I got on Twitter over 2 years ago and tried to find a purpose for using it. Since then I have been researching, scheming, pondering, and critically thinking about why I should use it. In my extensive studies I have come to realize Twitter is for three types of people:
2) Self-indulgent losers
3) Rapidly finding shallow, uninformative info about the most current news/subjects/products/gossip
The only acceptable form of using Twitter is #3, and notice it does not involve twittering on your part – only searching for other Tweets (presumably from people smarter and more in the know than you – that’s why they’re the ones with Twitter accounts). But I don’t even care about #3 – that’s what Digg and Videogum are for. Call me old-fashioned.
That video is hilarious! Where’d you find it?
Where I find everything: Digg.com
